Week 4

Wow! Week 4 already! It feels like we've only just started the term.
The class is doing a fabulous job of wearing masks. We are going outside each day for some 'mask-free time' for fitness and also doing some of our learning outside. Please congratulate your child on their resilience and patience.

This week, the school value we are focussing on is Respect. We will be discussing how we show respect for each other, ourselves, our class, and our school.

Swimming continues this week. It is pleasing to see the quick progress the students are making by swimming 45 minutes each day. Remember to provide a note if your child isn't swimming. We have spare togs to borrow for those who forget. Please wash these and get your child to return them as soon as possible.

Week 4 Learning
Some of our big ideas this week include:

RE - At St Mary's, we have a unique way of doing things. Everything we do is grounded in faith. With Christ as our center, we are the St Mary's C.R.E.W.
     - To understand that we are part of a school that has a special history and charisms grounded in the person of Christ.

Maths - NUMBERS — The set of real numbers is infinite, and each real number can be associated with a unique point on the number line.
THE BASE TEN NUMERATION SYSTEM — The base ten numeration system is a scheme for recording numbers using digits 0-9, groups of ten, and place value.

Writing - Planning techniques for writing - Developing expertise in selecting, noting down, and organising ideas and information will help our writing.

What's on this week

Thursday - Swimming, Roller skating at lunchtime
