Week 2

 

Well, I'm still at home isolating but hope to be back at school on Tuesday. Covid is a horrible virus and it certainly knocks you around. A huge thanks to the relievers who looked after Room 2 last week (and Monday).

Goal Setting Interviews

I am looking forward to meeting you next week for our three-way interviews. Remember the time slots are only 10 minutes.

Remember school finishes at 2 pm on Tuesday.

Museum Trip

We are visiting the Museum (Tea House at Government Gardens) on Monday 8 August to attend a workshop about the local history of our school. 

 We will leave school at 9am and return at about 12. Or, if it is easier, you can meet us there. Please let me know if you are available to help. lizm@stmarysrotorua.school.nz

Friday is dance back to class day. Here is the music if you want to remind the children closer to Friday Dancewalk! | SoulPancake Street Team I'll have some pizza vouchers to give out to our most enthusiastic dancers. One pizza per prizewinner and they can share their pizza with a friend.

Week 1 Term 3

 

Welcome back to school everyone. I trust you all had a fabulous break and stayed well.

This term we start with a bang with our first dance practice on Monday for our school production. It will be an exciting term full of dance, singing, and drama. Many of our Room 2 students have main parts and the whole class will be involved in learning a class dance. Remember to check the blog on the school website for any notices.

Don't forget your mask and your reading log for Monday.

Our Learning This Term...

Maths - Geometry Describe the transformations (reflection, rotation, translation,  or enlargement) that have mapped one object onto another.

           - Multiplication - learn times tables with instant recall (including division).

                                      - practice strategies to solve problems using multiplication and division

Literacy - understand and use punctuation when reading and writing.

            - using techniques that extend ideas in writing

            - learn how to write more persuasively

            - speeches - writing and presenting to an audience

RE - Prayer - different ways we can communicate with God

                 - sacraments

Technology - use coding to complete challenges

Science - Science Kits have been booked this term. Yay!

Week 10 Learning

 Happy Holiday everyone. I hope you all have a lovely rest and enjoy spending time with family over the next two weeks.

Congratulations to all those who have a part in the school production next term. Remember that there is a Production Blog to keep up to date with all the notices. There will be tryouts for Singers and Dancers early next term.
