Gosh, I must have been busy this week as there are not many photos to share, sorry.
It was nice to have assembly back on today. Remember all parents are welcome to this, you just need to wear a mask.
We have been looking at our learning goals for Term 2 this week so the students will be ready to talk about them next week for 3-way conferences. This is always a lovely time where your child can talk about their learning so if you have not booked a time, please click on the link to do so.
Appointments available
Tuesday 10 May 3.15 - 6.45pm
Wednesday 11 May 3.15 - 5.35pm
How to make a booking
How do parents make a booking for their child's Three Way Conference?
There are a number of ways bookings can be made. Either:
1) Go to the School App and then the Links section then School Interviews. Enter the code akwma
2) Go to www.school interviews.co.nz and enter the event

Here are some of our maths this week. The topic is Algebra (Patterns and Relationships). I have been really impressed with the variety of ways the kids are seeing the growing pattern and how quickly they are seeing a relationship.
The challenge for some students now is to use multiplication to describe the pattern and write the rule using an algebraic expression. This is Level 4 thinking so they are doing very well.
The students are learning to:
* notice how the pattern is growing (there may be lots of different ways to describe this)
* continue the pattern
* record information about the pattern in a table (maths word for T chart)
* look for a 'rule' or a 'relationship' between the numbers
We noticed if you split the triangle and move the counters, you create a square. Now we can use multiplication to count the objects easier.
We can put information into a table to see the relationships and rules easier.
Eric clearly describing the rule

Avantika's work.
